My Daughter's Daisies

This is a quilt I made for my daughter. This is another quilt I made that was more "on-point". In designing this one, I wanted to use the daisies on the side of the quilt. The daisies were cut out using the Sizzix die cutting machine. I used a flower die and a circle die to get the shapes. These were appliqued onto the pieces using heat and bond and then stitched by hand. Definitely a boredom buster! I designed the pillow cases for this one as well.

Harley Frogs

This is a quilt I made for my son. I fell in love with this fabric and just had to use it! I created the design myself. I wanted to use a pattern that would display these fun frogs! It was quilted with flames ( I wish I was better with that!) And I also made a panel bedskirt with pleats to go with the quilt. I also made a pillow case to match! This was one of those quilts where you bought every last bit of fabric left on the bolt and had to get creative to be able to use it without running out. It was definitely a challenge trying to find other matching fabrics!

Which would you buy?

I have been thinking about investing in a new long arm machine. If you had the choice, which brand would you go with? Nolting? Gammill? Prodigy? AND if you had one, would you make a business out of it? Or use it only for personl things? Please leave your opinions!!! I would love to hear what you have to say!

Work in progress...

These are all quilts I made. We usually take the picture of the quilt unfinished because we use the quilting machine at my mom's house and then take it home to finish the edges. The two on the top were made two at a time--2 of the same quilts. It only makes sense to make two when the design is a one way design and you are left with the other half to throw away... It's such a waste! So I made two of each design and gave them away as Christmas gifts. The third quilt was given to my husband for Christmas. It's flannel with pheasants. Perfect for the winter time. The last one is my own design. I tend to work toward a more rustic appearance. This one is on my couch and I love it!! It is quilted with shapes of moose and bear in the bear paw squares.

Quilts 1

This bottom one was made with some really neat embroidered fabric that my mom found. This quilt was hand quilted. Much prettier in person. Click on the pic and see it up close!

More quilts

These are all quilts done in the last few years. They were mostly made by my madre or myself. I wish we had a better way to display the quilts for pictures, but you get the idea!

These are some sweet quilts that my mom made. I have created this site to display her work. She does an awesome job!
